Sponsored posts and blogging for 'freebies'.

I wanted to write a quick post on the above subjects because what you think of me, means a lot.

I know a lot of people don't like sponsored posts. I've wrote one, I'll be writing another and that is all the sponsored posts I will do.
*Cue excuse* haha. Our boiler is broke, meaning no heating and no hot water. We cannot afford to get a new one so the money from these posts are going towards a boiler.

I don't have a problem with sponsored posts, it's the blogger's choice, but I don't want to write any more because I don't want to lose respect from the people who don't like them.

I would like to think I've made a few friends through blogging and hopefully, one day I can meet them. I want to keep you guys as friends, I don't want to be someone you dislike.

Another point I would like to bring up is the whole blogging for freebies situation. I've come across a few bloggers who do blog for freebies and I've unfollowed.
I, in no way, blog for freebies. They are a bonus, but if they were taken away, I wouldn't care and would still keep on blogging.
Just thought I'd clarify that in case any of you had doubts. & if you did, shame on you! haha I would never do that.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that ALL my reviews are honest. I have wrote negative things on products I've been sent, because it's my honest opinion.
I've also stopped putting disclaimers at the bottom of my posts because whether a product was sent to me or not is not going to affect my opinion.

  1. Aww, I think the main reason people get a bit funny is purely jealousy. As long as reviewers are giving their honest opinions on products I don't see anything wrong with it, plus it's nice to gain a little reward every now and then for the hard work :)

  5. I've done a sponsored post before, and I'd do one again. I hope that people would treat my blog the same way I treat theirs, and just not read that post if they're not interested. There's a difference between doing a sponsored post and giving a dishonest opinion (which is one thing I'll never do!) I'll always state clearly if it's a sponsored post, so I don't think it's a problem. I certainly wouldn't think any less of you hun if you choose to do sponsored posts, whatever your reasons!

  7. I've done around 2 sponsored posts, i've been offered more but decline those which i find are unsuitable for my blog. If someone doesn't like it then don't read my blog, simple as. I can't be assed with the big ooh aah people create, geez there's more things to worry about...

  9. I agree with blogging for free, but people need to remember that companies use bloggers from all sectors to promote their products, so if someone wants to send you a freebie, as long as you are 100% honest, there is no problem. I will not unfollow you if you decide to do sponsored posts, I think it's fine as long as it is not your sole reason for blogging. :)

  10. I love the fact that when i read your blog it makes me think oh wait I actually want to try that product. I trust your judgement and it doesnt bother me if it's paid or not. I have swiftly unfollowed a couple of blogs because of the "I got this from this person and that from another and am not actually going to buy any of the products myself" thing that goes on. I care about what you are writing and not who you got it from or even if you got paid to write it. I want to know about the product!

  11. I know you must of seen a few twets ealrier and i'd just like to say that i didn't mean you at all!

You're one of my faves and you have a good mix of stuff and i've bought bits and pieces because of your reviews.

It only gets annoying when blogs have freebies and sponsored posts nearly everyday, and currently there are at least 2 or 3 i can think of off of the top of my head. I've also noticed they tend to be the bloggers who aren't teens anymore. It just makes me wonder whether they blog for the right reasons.

keep doing what you're doing :)

  12. I reckon you should name names then Fudge or at least approach the said blogger/s directly? That way there's no paranoid bloggers and no bitch fests on Twitter....

  13. I think blogging *for* freebies is undesirable, but receiving products in exchange for a fair, honest review, is completely different. Arguably, you're performing a service for both the company and the consumer. At least that's my perspective ;)

By the way, love the blog x
