Resolutions

Photobucket

I didn't have any resolutions for this year, but then one popped into my head, and then another and another. I know some people believe that if you want to change something in your life, you shouldn't wait until the new year. I agree, but the new year gets you thinking about your life and what you would like to do differently.

My resolutions for this year are:
  • Tone up my stomach
  • Strengthen my arms (seriously, I'm so weak!)
  • Drink more water
  • Moisturise my body and face every day
  • Use/get rid of a product before buying another

Now, I'm not concentrating on every one straight away. At the moment, I'm going to concentrate on toning up my stomach and moisturising every day. I'll then add in the strengthening of my arms and drinking more water. I won't need to put much effort into the last resolution because that will happen automatically, as long as I remember the 'one in, one out' rule.

I think I'll be able to achieve these resolutions if I introduce them gradually. A lot of people try to change so many aspects of their lives at once, and it becomes too much. I think I've intentionally done exercise about... 3 times in my life, and they were only 10-20 minute sessions, so that's why I'm not doing both of the exercise resolutions right now - my body would go into shock!

To make these resolutions successful, I'm also going to make time in my routine for them. For example, I've decided to do sit-ups before I shower, and moisture after I've showered. Personally, I need this organisation. I can't just say 'oh, I'll do it at some point today'.

I'm thinking this is why my drinking more water resolution fails every year. You can't have one allocated time slot to drink an entire day's worth of water. You need to drink it throughout the day. I've tried drinking a certain amount up until midday, and then another amount up until tea time, but I always forget. I'm used to being dehydrated, so for this resolution, I'm going to have to really, really put the effort in and be concious about drinking all the time. Maybe I could set alarms on my phone to remind me? They wouldn't be very practical for uni though. I'll work it out!

Do you have any resolutions for 2013?

  1. Drinking more water is definitely one of mine too, I really struggle with it even though it should be so easy!

  2. I think quite a few of my resolutions are similar to yours, drinking more water is definitely one of mine too - however I know what you mean about trying to drink a days worth evenly through-out the day!. I just don't really drink when my body tells me too so I'm just trying to make myself more aware of that and make sure I carry water with me if I go out and stuff :)

  3. I think Drinking more water is a great one! I have bought so many funky water bottles to help make me drink it more often but I always forget! I think i'll join you in this resolution!
I'm glad I'm not the only one with weak arms! I do go to the gym every now and again but I have no strength in my arms at all!
