The Body Shop's Facial Cleansing Bar

Price: £3.00

What The Body Shop say: A vegetable-based soap that lathers onto the skin to leave it feeling cleansed, lightly moisturised, soft and refreshed. Especially formulated for use on the face, it can also be used on the body.

First of all, I really like the scent. Initially I couldn't pin point it but I knew I had smelt something like it before. I thought I was close when strawberry bonbons popped into my mind but my mum went 'ew no! that's not strawberry bonbons!' and then it hit me, turkish delight! That's why my mum isn't keen on the smell because she hates the sweets. My dad loves them so that's what I smell when he eats them.
It's not a strong scent so don't be put off if you don't like the smell of turkish delight. That's just what it reminds me of but it is a floral/sweet scent and it's gorgeous.

This is the best cleanser I have used. Now that's a strong statement but here's why:
  • This lathers loads and I like my facial washes to do that as then I know it's working.
  • It literally leaves my face squeaky clean.
  • Afterwards my skin feels soft.

For a couple minutes after using your face feels slightly tight, but I love it when that happens.

Some people might say: 'It's a bit expensive for a bar of soap' and I will say yes it's a bar of soap, but it's a cleanser and £3.00 for a cleanser is great value for money. This also lasts ages! I've been using mine for a few weeks and it hasn't changed in size. I also read a review where it only slightly decreased in size after having it for a few months.

Would I re-purchase? Definitely, this is now my holy grail cleanser!

Collective shopping

I love reading haul posts; to find great bargains, to see what is currently in stores, to decide what to buy next and if there is anything that I've been 'umming and arring' about, they usually make my mind up on whether to buy it! Here is what I have purchased in the last two weeks:

BodyShop had 30% off for bank holiday weekend woooo!
I could have ordered soooo much (Their eyeshadows and make-up brushes are great. Their lipstain is also one of my favourite lip products) but unfortunately I'm a wee bit skint at the moment. I couldn't even spend £15 to get free delivery because I didn't have that much in my bank! Bad times.
First of all I went to their lipcare, saw their lipbalms and thought 'Omg, down to £1.40, I have to have them alllll!' *Add to basket, add to basket...* but I then remembered I didn't have enough money to buy dozens of lipbalms and lip butters :( The funny thing is, I rarely wear any lip products, including lipbalms but their still an addiction of mine and when I have the money, I shall be buying quite a few of them hehe

My order was dispatched Wednesday and came Thursday! So much for 'if you paid for standard delivery, your items should take 5 days to arrive'. Express delivery takes 2 days and mine came before that!

So here's what I bought:
Passion fruit facial cleansing gel £2.79 (normal price £3.99), Vitamin E facial cleansing bar £1.75 (normal price £2.50), Facial brush with lid £2.10 (normal price £3), Double ended blackhead remover £2.10 (normal price £3)

Next up is Newlook
I ordered Wednesday, expecting them to arrive Saturday like most of my orders have (3 days) but nope! and because of bank holiday Monday, I had to wait until Tuesday!

White pumps £6, White metallic lace dolly shoes £14 - I normally wouldn't pay this much for a pair of dolly shoes but their to wear for a special occasion.

Primark:
Light wash mini shorts £7 - I really like these!, Briefs £4 - I normally buy shorts or thongs but I thought I'd go for a change.

Shorts £5. These are for my dad as part of his fathers day present. He doesn't like getting presents because he'd rather I spend the money on myself but I still do anyway. He doesn't like expensive brands (he likes a good bargain ;) and if I did buy him something expensive, he wouldn't be happy and would want me to return it haha. I bought him a pair of these a few weeks ago in a different design and he loves them so I thought I'd get him another pair.
As for the other part of his present, I'm not sure.. he's trying to get fit so that means no chocolate.. but I might buy him Chinese; he won't say no to that :P

Tesco:
Just a few essentials :)
Cotton wool pads 55p each, Nivea facial cleansing wipes £1.49 (half price), Dove deodorant stick £1.99

Boots:
I have £7 something on my advantage card :D Man it took a while to get that much. A while ago my friend bought a £40 perfume and she put all the points on my card as she doesn't have one. That built my points up a fair bit! Plus they also have deals like: spend £5 on so and so and get 250 points.
I was going to buy a Barry M eyeliner, two Rimmel nail polishes and a few things from Natural Collection (I want to try Apple Blossom lipstick to see if nudes suit me) but one of my Boots are always low on stock with half the shelves are empty and my other Boots only has a few stands of make-up :(

Some of my mums makeup - swatches

Most of my mums makeup bag consists of old cheap makeup which I have gave her because I don't want it anymore, but there are a few items which are quite nice - mainly because me or my nan have bought them for her as she can not afford to buy luxuries for herself.

Here we have BodyShop's Liquid Lip Colour in 14 Bronzed, Maybelline's Lip Gloss in 05 Fuchsia Jewel, Primark's Lip Gloss in Sundae and Maybellines Watershine Lipstick in 110 Sequin Mauve.
My mum has had the Maybelline Lip Gloss and Lip Stick for years so I don't think these products are available any more although I think I have seen the Lip Stick on Ebay.

BodyShop's Eyeshadow's in 15 Pebble Grey and 31 Peacock Green. Peacock Green on top in swatch.
I really like these eye-shadows.

Collection 2000's Dazzle Me's in 6 Fairy Dust and 9 Enchanted.

Body Shop's Lip & Cheek Stain

01 Rose Pink
£9.25

What they say: For a natural looking just blushed glow to the cheeks or just bitten in to a strawberry lips this double -duty product is a must have for the make-up bag. The more you sweep it on, the deeper it gets.

What I say: I have been using my mums for a while now (Since beginning of this year) and normally I wouldn't spend this much on a lip/cheek product but I really like it and have no hesitations of purchasing this myself. The colour in the tube does look quite frightening but when you apply it, it looks very natural.

On the lips: It looks like you have naturally pigmented lips and to get a more intense look, just build up the colour. It looks so natural because it is a stain and doesn't look like you have slapped a load of make-up on. The lasting power is very good as well because it is a stain. I remember applying it one day at about 7am and you could still see the product at 12pm (I didn't check after that so I don't know how much longer it stayed on for). The product obviously did wear away a little but because it was a stain, it still looked natural and didn't give me lipstick lines.
On the cheeks: This does look very scary to put on your cheeks but it blends really well and gives a naturally flushed look.

I personally love this product :)

My Favourite Body Butter

Presenting, the one, the only: Body Treatment Body Butter!
This is a body butter I use all the time. It smells amazing, is really thick and creamy which I love and leaves your skin super soft. This comes in other fragrances as well including coconut and strawberry.
It is the size of a large Body Shop's body butter, it works just as well, smells exactly the same... so whats the difference between the two? Oh yes, how could I forget? The price! So do you think this beauty is higher or lower than a £12 body butter from The Body Shop? ...
This blog isn't called Affordable Treats for nothing - Of course its lower!
The price might surprise you, it certainly did me...
97p! I bought this around a year ago for no particular reason and I certainly didn't think it would be any good for the ridiculous price. I was proven wrong and have been in love ever since. The price occasionally changes but the highest I have seen it go to is about £1.15? & that's still as cheap as chips!

This can be found at Wilkinsons. I haven't seen this anywhere else yet, but you never know, it could be staring me in the eyes every time I walk in to Superdrug.

Are there any products you use that don't get the publicity?

Review: Natural Collection Body Sprays

Boots, Natural Collection, £1.99
I own:
Vanilla
Wild Strawberry
Mango & Papaya

I love these, they are a few of my favourite smells ever (Apart from fresh bread - Mmmm)
Vanilla and Wild Strawberry are super sweet smelling, that's why I love them (+ I get quite a few compliments when wearing them!)

I also have Body Shops Vanilla perfume and this Vanilla spray smells exactly like it. The differences are that the spray is a lot cheaper and has 120mls more product! (150ml)
Don't get me wrong, I love my Body Shop perfume but why pay more when you can have a cheaper dupe? Who's going to tell the difference?

Lots of love x
