Recent Purchases - Republic, Primark, Bourjois and More

I went in town yesterday, ice packs in hand (literally), and bought a few bits that I thought I'd show you!

I bought this top from Republic for £5, down from £18. I'd seen it in there a few times, but could never be bothered to try it on, then decided to just do so yesterday. It's such a pretty top, but it's difficult to get on, and impossible to get off by yourself. I had to get my sister to pull it off over my head! If she wasn't there, I'd have been stuck. Still, for £5, I think it's worth it. I'm going to take the white vest top from underneath out and wear my own because it's a bit baggy, but I'm very happy with the overlay.

The weather must have been affecting my choices in Primark! I bought two more vest tops for £2.50 each. I have a load of these, and wear them under most of my tops to avoid displaying my bra. I also bought some sunglasses for £2.50. This purchase is a big deal for me because I think I look stupid in sunglasses. These, however, don't look too bad! I then bought two pairs of shorts for £4 each. I'm planning to wear these to the beach because I like to keep my bottom and crotch covered!

Boots currently have a 'buy one get one half price' offer going on, and this happened...
I picked up one of the new Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayons in Peach on the Beach for £7.99. It's a beautiful shade! Similar to MUA's Justify. Justify looks like a shocking orange in the packaging, but on the lips it's a pinky peachy shade. I tried taking photos of them together, but they look very different on camera (natural or flash!). I then picked up Sinful Colours' Hottie, which is just stunning. It's a dense, blue based holographic glitter. One coat over a blue polish looks amazing! This is originally £1.99. I also bought the Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint in Yellow for £3.99. I'd been searching for this for a while, but my local Boots messed up and had the limited edition green shade instead, which is meant to be exclusive to Superdrug. I've been loving yellows lately, so can't wait to wear this! Lastly, I bought Seventeen's Pink Lemonade nail polish (originally £2.99). I've been meaning to pick this up for years, but never did for some reason! It's a nice pinky, slightly peach, shade.

Last night I also bought some items from a blog sale, and can't wait for them to arrive! I bought China Glaze's Tinsel Town for £1, Essie's Where's My Chauffeur for £2.50, and Sleek's Life's A Peach blush for £1.
I'm also waiting on Ciate and Accessorize sale orders, so expect to see them soon!

My Weekend - Hairdressers, Food Markets, Charity Shops, Car Boot Sales and More

I've done a lot more than I usually do this weekend, so thought I'd document it!

On Friday, at 9am, I had my hair cut. I had 5 inches taken off, and it feels so short and soft now! I love that feeling.

Afterwards, we looked around the charity shops, and I came across this Cath Kidston mug in Woodside for just 50p. I'm currently using it as a plant pot because I have far too many mugs in the cupboard as it is!

Then, around 11am on Friday, my sister and I went into town so I could take photos of the Continental Food Market for one of my uni modules. I was nervous and embarrassed at first, but once I started taking photos, I was fine!

After I took the photos, we went shopping. I only bought one thing, and that was the throw. It was from Primark and was down to just £3. I already own it, and love it, so thought I'd get another. My sister bought a Soul Cal jumper from Republic for £16, and 3 Sinful Colour nail polishes from Boots for £3.98 (they're £1.99 each, and were on 3 for 2). The colours she chose are Timbleberry, Rise & Shine, and Nail Junkie.

On Saturday, we went to a load of big charity shops and homeware/DIY stores. In one charity shop, St Luke's Hospice, the books were just 20p! I restrained myself and settled for 5. I don't know if they're going to be any good, but I recognised some of the authors, so grabbed them. The Kiss & Die one sounds good. It's about a serial killer who tortures and decapitates people. Sounds cheery, doesn't it? ;)

We also went to B&Q and bought a load of paint and painting supplies because we're giving our house a much needed makeover. While there, I couldn't resist these Kalanchoes for £1.50 each. We also bought some pre-made hanging baskets for the front of our house for £5 each.

We also went to Buyology on Saturday, where I finally found some plant pot saucers, which were 79p for 5. They're turquoise, the perfect size, and are 100% natural. This means they'll only last 2-3 years, but I don't mind that at all. These plant pot saucers were the finishing touch for my windowsill makeover. Now it's all bright and happy. For more information and photos, see the post below this. I also bought a few dog toys because they were a great price. Now the dogs are spoilt for choice!

On Saturday evening, I played around with my blog header and colour theme. I must have changed it over 20 times! I'm still not sure about it, but it'll do for now.

I didn't take any photos today, but I'll just write about what we did. This morning, we went to a car boot sale, but it was rubbish. We'll be going to a different one next time! Then we had breakfast at a little cafe, and it was delicious. Cafe sausages always taste better to me. Then we went to a bed store and my dad bought my sister a cabin bed. She's had the same bed for nearly her whole life, so she needed a new one. She also has the smallest room, so she wanted a cabin bed to make the most of the space. I've also decided that I need a new bed frame, so will be buying one next week. Even though my bed isn't that old, I want to get rid of the base because it doesn't have any room underneath it, and it's such a waste of space. This week, I'm planning on getting a simple metal frame, and a load of storage boxes to go underneath. I'll be keeping my mattress because it's not that old (and mattresses are expensive!)

Phew! If you managed to get through this, I applaud you!

Oops! I did it again...

Yes, I did just quote a Britney song. It popped into my head and I just couldn't shake it! At least it's more interesting than 'recent purchases'...
As the title suggests, I did it again. 'It' being spending money. Hehe.

Primark:
Winter socks (pack of two) £2.50, knee high owl socks £2
Oh how I love Primark socks...

Long sleeved pj top £5

Pj bottoms £5 and £3

New Look:
Suede desert boots £23.99 (£29.99 before student discount)

White string vest £2.49, teal vest £3.99

'Shell pink' loose boxy t-shirt £7.99
I attempted to take a photo of me wearing this, but the photos didn't do it justice! The back has a sheer panel (which you can see near the tag).

Republic:
Soul Cal deluxe hoodie £24 (£30 before student discount)

John Lewis:
Remington Pearl straighteners £39.95
I have wanted these for agessss! I wanted them even more after buying the curling wand from this range, which is amazing. The original price of these is £80-90. Boots currently have them on offer for £56 and I was going to buy them from there, but thankfully I saw them on the John Lewis site for a lot less!
Here is a rubbish webcam photo of my hair this morning, after using the straighteners:

Topshop:
Cream blush in High Five £5.40 (£6 before student discount)
I'm not a fan of Topshop. I think many of their items are ugly and overpriced. However, I've wanted one of their blushes for ages. High Five hasn't been talked about much because Head Over Heels has been receiving most of the attention. So far, I really like it. It's very pigmented, so I have to use a light hand when applying! One thing I don't like about this product is the white packaging. It's already filthy!

ASOS:
Barry M Nail Paints in Pink Flamingo and Berry Ice Cream £1.80 each in the sale
I've previously owned Pink Flamingo, but I made the mistake of letting my sister borrow it. She used it so much that I was left with half a bottle of gloopy polish. I've wanted to try Berry Ice Cream for a while, so this was the perfect time to do so.

eBay:
My Blue Nose Friends- Thomas the Hippo and Twiggy the Giraffe.
I've wanted these for ages, but they're no longer sold in stores and are rare to find. The ones you do find are going for stupid prices on eBay. Thankfully, I didn't pay too much over the retail price for these.

I've also ordered some other bits and bobs from eBay, but they're coming from Hong Kong and won't be here just yet!

Shop!

I didn't get a lot of want I intended to, like a coat, shoes and hat but I like what I did buy :)
I'm giving up on looking for a coat, I've looked everywhere!

Newlook:
32 inch skinny jeans £19.99

Republic:
Rings £4.99. How pretty are these?!

Boots:
250g chocolate slab £5, The Pink Cow Vanilla Biscuit shower gel £2 (Normally £2.99), Boots Extracts Vanilla body butter 200ml £7.75, Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter body butter 50ml £2.50.
I LOVE the scent of vanilla and have been wanting to get a vanilla body butter for ages. I got two mini Cocoa Butter's because it was 3 for 2 and got one free.

Superdrug:
Nivea Tinted Moisturiser £1.99 (Half price), Emery boards 99p, Barry M Vivid Purple, Raspberry and Clear £2.95 each (Clear was free as it is 3 for 2 in Superdrug)

Birthdays:
Mum's birthday card £1.59.

The chocolate slab, Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter, Nivea Tinted Moisturiser and Barry M's Vivid Purple are for my mum's birthday on Wednesday.

Shower, exfoliate, moisturise.. door bell!

I still wasn't dressed so my parcel was placed in the hands of my father, which he then hid and thought he would play the 'cold, warm, warmer' game with me O_O so when I finally found it, I ran upstairs to try my items on :)
I bought both of these in Republic's sale for £5 each
The photos are cropped a fair bit because I had a towel on my head and my room was a mess :) oh and I'm so pale!

Originally £19.99. To me, this dress is just meh. I'll wear it to the beach over a bikini so I would of never paid £20 for it. First photo is of the dress normally, making me look larger than normal and the second is with a belt which I think looks slightly better.

Anddd the top, which was originally £19.99. It has a chain along the collar and light weight material. I quite like this :)

Republic Haul

I've just placed an order with Republic which shall arrive next week :). Republic is probably my favourite clothes store to buy from now and is the first store I look at when needing (wanting) some clothes. They are also my favourite store to buy dresses from as they are gorgeous! I already have a few and I am going to purchase another one for a wedding I have coming up. The dresses are around £20-£40 which I think is quite good. I did used to think their prices were quite expensive but that was when all my clothes came from
Primark, and compared to Primark, all stores are expensive. I still don't think its cheap, but I'd rather have 1 memorable top than 10 plain boring tops which no-one will notice.
My order this time consists of basic clothing:

T-shirt £14.99

Denim mini skirt £19.99 or 2 for £30

Hoody £19.99 or 2 for £30

Light blue vest £5.99

Navy vest £5.99

Republic Dress & Sleek Palette!

Republic simple black sequin dress £19.99. (^ Looks better on me :P). I tried this on earlier to show my parents and they love it. My dad hardly ever gives compliments and when he does, he normally says: 'Thats alright' but when he saw me in this he said: 'That's really nice!' so it must look good! I'm wearing this on new years eve to my friends party. The girls are dressing up as flappers (1920's prostitutes basically) and the guys as 1920's gangsters.

I finally got the Original Sleek Palette! £4.99
I love it! The colours are gorgeous!
