Make-up collection!

I've been blogging for 1 year and 2 months and I realised that I have never done a make-up collection post!
My make-up is stored in baskets and is separated into four sections: face, lips, eyes, eyeshadow.
As I was going through my make-up, I noticed that I don't actually own a lot! So now I don't have to feel guilty about buying more of it :P

Here is my pathetic excuse of a make-up collection:
Actual face. Three powders and three concealers! I thought I had so much more! I don't wear foundation so that's why I don't own any.

Blush, bronzer and highlighters.

Eyes. Very little eyeshadow as I don't wear it often.

Lips. Again, not much as I don't wear it often.

So, I don't wear foundation, eyeshadow and rarely wear lip products. Wow. I don't wear much do I?!

Someday Summary

Helloooo!
I don't actually know what I'm going to write, my life has been quite boring this week.

Hmm well I got another conditional offer :) From Brighton University.

Now for the bad:
My dad doesn't think I'll get into Uni.
Failing Psychology (This point will come up until my grades improve haha)
Everyone I know who is 17/18, look their age. I don't look my age at all. Because of my fat cheeks, I look about 14. :(

& I have nothing else to say haha, there's nothing going on in my life at the mo!

We heart it time:

& because it's Halloween:

Sleek's 50% Sale! What will you be getting?

Just a quick post to inform those of you who don't already know that Sleek will be having a 50% off sale Thursday 11th November. This means Blushes will be £1.99, Palettes £2.99, Lipsticks and Nail polishes £1something... I could go on and on.
I've already chosen what I'll be getting! Hopefully they won't be out of stock.
I want: 2 Blushes, Contour Kit, Ink Pot, Pout Polish and a Kajal. This will come to... £13!
I don't fancy any of the palettes unfortunately. I have the Original and I love it, has all the colours I need and I use them all. Plus a lot of palettes have repeated colours.

What will you be getting? Fingers crossed they won't be out of stock and the site won't crash! (Hopefully the sale starts after 4 because then I'll be home from school.)

Follow Sleek on Facebook as that's where they'll be giving us the code.

Nails Of The Week!

ASOS Paint in Lily.
I love it. I love the packaging, the formula, the name, everything!
And my application skills look pretty good here; I didn't need to touch up once!

The only thing is, it's so hard to capture the colour on camera. I've took so many photos and it keeps coming out pea green. It's much greener in real life and so much more beautiful.

*Will try and take a better photo today.*

MAC Goodies!

My MAC prizes from One More Lipstick's giveaway arrived this morning! Thank you so much Zoe :)

Shroom eyeshadow - 'Soft muted golden beige with opalescent shimmer (Satin)'

I couldn't get a decent photo of the swatch but I will upload one soon :)

This is my second MAC eyeshadow (The other one being Expensive Pink) and I'm slightly disappointed in the pigmentation. It's not bad but I have eyeshadows from cheaper brands which are much more pigmented.

Angel lipstick - 'Soft pink (Frost)'
Gorgeous isn't it?

Thank you again Zoe :)

Superdrug Colour Effects Wash In, Wash Out Conditioning Colour in Rich Red

Superdrug Colour Effects Wash In, Wash Out Conditioning Colour in Rich Red 6:4
Price: 99p

'Colour Effects will add beautiful tones to your hair whilst leaving it in great condition and with a fantastic
shine. Rich red adds warm red tones to light brown to mid brown hair.'

Just to clarify, this is not a dye. It's a tint which will fade after a few washes.

You ready?

Looks scary doesn't it!

I applied this just like I would with a hair dye; wet hair and then comb the product through.
I used around half of the tube as I have really long, thick hair.
It says to leave on between 5 and 20 minutes. You will not get any results if you leave it on for 5 minutes so leave it on for the minimum of 20 minutes.

When rinsing the colour, the water goes bright orange which to most will seem scary and this phrase will run through your head: 'I don't want Ginger hair!'
I didn't have this worry because I already have Ginger hair haha.

Before and After:

My hair is actually darker than what it shows in the photos. My true hair colour is close to the shade at the bottom of the photos.

I really like it! It's brightened my locks and now I am closer to being a true redhead . This does only last a few washes but you can get a few applications out of one tube so it should last you longer. It also helps you decide whether the shade suits you and then you can think of going semi permanent or permanent.
This product is great if you want to 'add' to your hair colour for a party, wedding etc. + it's only 99p! You can get a couple to last a few weeks.

There are other colours including a couple blondes and brunettes.

Again, this does not colour your hair but brightens and adds tones (Of the colour you've chosen) to your hair.

Today's purchases

I like reading posts like this because it shows you the bits and bobs available and on offer (Websites don't show a lot of products)
So I hope you like them too!

^ All from Superdrug
Superdrug shower gels 2 for £1.50
Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner £3.45 - My favourite leave in conditioner ever!
Colour Effects Wash In Wash Out Conditioning Colour (Rich Red) 99p - This brightens your hair and adds tones of whatever colour you have picked (In this case, red). This comes out within a few washes.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer £3.99 - My favourite concealer, have just ran out after using it for months!

At the beginning of the store, where you pay, I saw Vaseline Rosy Lips in a stick (I'm assuming it's a new product because it said 'new'). I love Rosy Lips but hate tin lip balms so this will be great. Unfortunately I had no money left but my sister is going in town today and if she has any money spare she said she would pick one up for me :)

Someday Summary

These are getting a little repeated so next week I'll switch things up a bit... not sure how but I'll think of that when the time comes :P

A purchase from the week:
Nothing, but tomorrow I'm purchasing my trusty Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (Current one has lasted well over four months!) and a wash in wash out dye to brighten my locks.

Update:
This is something no one will care about but I bought a flask Friday so now I can take tea and soup to school! This is going to be a life saver as it's been so cold recently!

A high point from the week:
I got a conditional offer from Plymouth University. This is good... but I need the grades to get in and at the moment I'm not feeling confident about that.

A low point from the week:
I'm failing Psychology :( Keep getting E's so really need to revise LOADS or else I won't get into University.
Another low point is that this week I have 2 essays to write...
Oh and another (They keep on coming don't they!) is right in the middle of my January exams, I have a HUGE Media essay to write for my coursework and I also have to create a magazine. It's going to get in the way of revision... + I need to take photos in sunny weather and I doubt we'll get that in December/January.

We heart it time! I could only find a few I like:

Love the film UP!

Blake- Pink, Lily- Green, Megan- Purple and Gwen- Wine Red.

EDIT: More swatches:

I picked these up in the ASOS sale for just £1 a piece (Normally £6).
The formula is great; smooth, non streaky, great colour pay off :)

Nails Of The Week!

My last post was about a couple of ASOS nail paints and I swatched them for you. I actually thought it looked quite cool so I painted my other hand like it too, but on my other hand my middle finger is painted with the darker blue and my index finger is painted with the orange, to mix it up a bit ;)
Not to everyone's taste, but I like it :)

(Top to bottom):
ASOS Paint in Lauren
ASOS Paint in Olivia
Barry M Nail Paint in Pure Turquoise

ASOS Paints

Who's tired of hearing about the ASOS sale yet? Not me!
The ASOS Paints were £1 down from £6! First of all I only ordered two because the other colours were out of stock, but then I checked back a few days later and they were back! So here are the first two I ordered and the other four should arrive in a few days :)

Lauren and Olivia.

Top to bottom: Lauren, Olivia, Barry M's Pure Turquoise.

The formulation is great; smooth, non streaky and great colour pay off with 1-2 coats. I've read that a couple people think the formulation is too thick? I think Barry M Nail Paints are thicker and I know a lot of people love the formulation of them!

Tesco Beauty Freebies

http://www.tesco-yourbeauty.com/ regularly have freebies to give away and all you have to do is sign up and answer a few questions.
A lot of people have received a mascara which doesn't sound that impressive so I was surprised when I opened the envelope to find a nail polish. Tesco have accidentally sent me two packages so I received two polishes, and luckily in two different shades!

They're gorgeous:

Velvet and Shock. Both 11ml.
Velvet is hard to describe but I'll try my best: Shimmery bronze with red and mauve undertones.
Shock: Red with a lot of purple and fuchsia undertones.

Here are some swatches: (Quickly applied to nails, that's why they're a little messy.)

All you need is one coat, but I always do two out of habit.
These are perfect Autumn/Winter shades and I cannot wait to use them so look out for a few nail posts with these bad boys in!
It's Tesco so I doubt these will be expensive :)

Someday Summary

This week has gone fast! Was going to do this tomorrow but I'm busy and couldn't wait until Sunday! Friday is still the weekend :P

A purchase from the week:
7 ASOS nail paints- Most of the colours were re stocked and for a pound I couldn't resist! Colours I ordered were: Orange, Blue, Pink, Purple, Green, Red and Wine Red (Hopefully perfect for Winter.)
I also went to Asda earlier (I love going food shopping!) and got a travel mug (To keep your drinks hot) for £2! and a nice big box of chocolates for my friends birthday... £2.25! Crazy right? Oh and I bought some skin coloured tights and a tube of fake blood for Halloween :)

A high point from the week:
I won Onemorelipstick's MAC give away! I've chosen Shroom eye shadow and Angel lipstick :)

A low point from the week:
Hmmm I'm pretty happy at the moment so can't remember. I have bad skin though!

Weekend plans:

Collection 2000's Sparkle Top Coat

I couldn't get a good quality photo of the bottle today but I will upload it right *here* when I get one :)
I love Collection 2000's nail care varnishes and even more so at just £2.49 each :)
You can wear this alone or over another colour and as the sparkle/shimmer particles are finely milled, it looks beautiful either way.

Here is three coats on my bare nails:

Bad quality but it shows you how it looks at certain angles.

Isn't it beautiful?
I'm not keen on glitter polishes as they can easily look tacky so this subtle sparkle is perfect.

Busy Bee Candles Review

I love candles. I love the variety of shapes, sizes and scents they come in and the flames are so relaxing to watch.

Busy Bee Candles is a company that, if you haven't already guessed from the name, sells candles.

They offer a wide range of scents to suit everyone's needs and the ones I want to try are all of the fruity ones, Vanilla Dream, Shortbread, Fresh Coffee and Fresh Bread (Fresh Bread sounds amazing!)

One useful aspect to the website is the Fragrance Strength Rating. Each candle's scent strength is rated out of 10, with 10 being the strongest. I think this is a great idea as everyone prefers different strengths of fragrance.

Busy Bees also provide a large variety of sizes, from tea lights to jumbo, 2 wick candles.

The prices are very reasonable, with the most expensive candle (Jumbo, two wick) being £15.95. The jumbo candle burns for around 100-130 hours so you definitely get your moneys worth!

The packaging is simple, just what I like, with each candle in a glass jar.

Also, the candle is filled to the top, giving you as much product as possible.

The scent I got sent (haha!) was Baby Powder:
Baby Powder is Busy Bee's best selling fragranced candle and smells exactly like baby powder. Personally, I'm not keen on the smell because I like my fruit/sweet fragrances.

Because the scent is spot on to the name of the candle, I'm eager to try other scents available (Yes I'm thinking of Fresh Bread, Shortbread and Vanilla Dream!)

I think these candles will make great presents and I'm putting a few on my Christmas wish list!

Again, here is the website: Busy Bee Candles, go have a little look :)
