Charity Shopping

This morning, my sister and I went to a few of our local charity shops to have a look at the books. The little owl ornaments above aren't books, but they're ever so cute. They were 60p each, which I think is quite expensive for a charity shop, but I couldn't resist. While photographing them, Jacks came to see what the fuss was about, and just had to have a play. As well as these, I bought quite a few books! The ones on the left were 99p each, and the ones on the right were just 25p each. I haven't heard of most of them, so don't know if they're going to be any good, but for the price, it's worth the gamble!

Have you been charity shopping recently?

  4. I love Charity shops, as you know :P. Your Charity shops sounds really cheap in comparison to the ones near me - those owls would have been about £1-£3 each in one of mine probably! And also books are rarely under £1 they sometimes have 2 for £1 though. Charity shops are definitely a lot more expensive than they used to be, but you can still find some great things :).

  7. 60p is super cheap! All the books in my local ones were £2 too. But still a bargain. :) But people keep stealing from them so I hardly blame them! :(

  9. I am a big charity shopper! I even blog about it. Don't you just love the excitement of finding something new yet old? It's the excitement of the unknown and once you find that perfect little thing you can't help but give yourself a pat on the shoulder. It's always money well spent =)

  10. Ah, I'm so jealous - I wish I could buy books at such low prices! :) There are no such charity shops around here where I live, at least not that I know of(?); we "only" have these old used books stores that only have..well, really old (rare, antique, out of print) books I'm not interested in (I too want Aherns & such for less than 1£! :) )

(hi, I'm new around here :) you've a lovely blog)

  11. Your cat literally looks exactly like mine (buttons) and every single time I go to a charity shop (which is often) I'm constantly buying books, in fact I have some of the books in that picture :)
