Graduation - What Did You Wear?

I'm graduating this year, and although the ceremony isn't until October, I thought I'd start keeping an eye out for dresses. I spotted this dress in Miss Selfridge (a store I never go in) yesterday, and liked the look of it. My dad thinks it's boring, but I'd say simple. I like the shape, the print, and the fact that it's black and white, so I can wear any colour accessories. This is just the first dress I've seen, and I won't be buying anything just yet, so am on the look out for other options. If you've graduated in the past, I'd love to see what you wore, whether that be in blog post or photo form. My Twitter is @Lou_AT and my Instagram is louuu20.

Also, my dad said he's buying me a graduation gift, which I wasn't expecting. I'm thinking about asking for a dainty necklace because it's something I can keep for years to come. If you've seen any nice ones, I'd love to know. I've seen a couple on Etsy, but don't really know where else to look! I don't want it to be more than £50.

Thank you in advance!

  1. I graduated last week and I wore a white Maxi dress as its traditional to where white for graduation in the states. I'm not sure if you have Macy's in the UK but my dress was on the clearance rack for $7.00 so if you come across a Macy's before October I would defiantly check it out!

here's a link to a picture of my dress:

  2. My graduation is in September on the hoe and I have NO idea what to wear!
I have a quite simple mint green from TNFC @ Topshop (You know the chiffon one they do in a million colours!?) but I'm still unsure!

  3. This looks pretty. A lot of universities ask graduates to wear a blouse because the hoods have a loop that needs to go round a button of a shirt or jacket. It's kind of difficult to explain, but helps to keep the hood secure. It is a fantastic day so I am sure you will enjoy it lots! Congratulations again :)

  4. I have the same graduation outfit dilemma at the moment too, mines on the 15th july! I want something summery but still covered up if you know what I mean. That is a lovely dress, can imagine it looking very flattering on. Also Astrid & Miyu and Fashionology always have some really pretty dainty necklaces, check them out! xx
